NOMI Home Buyers Tour - April 11th - 12:00pm - 3:00pm

Good Evening Everyone -

The next NOMI Home Buyers Tour is right around the corner!! Many of you may be aware of how the NOMI Home Tours operated over the past two years; a high touch, guided tour of 5-7 homes that were on the market in the neighborhoods of NOMI (North Minneapolis) and I might add, aided in the sale of 15+ homes (that we are aware of).

The tours were met with tremendous success and enthusiasm however, we have changed the format for our 2010 tours based on feedback from our tour guests.

Our next tour will take place on Sunday, April, 11th. As always, we will begin with a "Meet & Greet" at a local establishment from 11:00am to 1:00pm - - 42nd Avenue Station, a wonderful new coffee shop in Webber-Camden will play host (4171 Lyndale Ave N) - - this will give prospective home buyers an opportunity to meet current residents of NOMI, get a taste of one of our excellent local establishments, chat with Realtors, members of Neighborhood Organizations and learn about the current financial incentives that are being offered. This will also be the starting point of our tour - a place to pick up a packet listing all homes that will be held open that day. All homes on the tour will then be held Open from 12:00pm - 3:00pm for guests to view at their leisure!

JACC Finance and Fundraising Committee: JACC Financial Report and Meeting for March‏

The normal meeting of the JACC Financial Committee has been re-scheduled from March 25 to March 31, 2010, 6:30 PM at 2009 James Avenue N. the JACC house.


This rescheduling is being done to accommodate our Auditor, Mike Wilson. We will use the March 31, 2010 meeting time to give Mr. Wilson an opportunity to review and comment on the organizations 2009 Audit.

JACC-Flash Announcement: CPED is Acquiring Property in the Jordan Neighborhood

Please be advised that CPED has finally reached an agreement with Strongtower Financial for the purchase of the properties located at 2029, 2033 and 2101 West Broadway Avenue. These parcels are located in between the DeLisi’s redevelopment and the Capri Theater.  CPED's agreement with Strongtower Financial also includes the purchase of the vacant lot at 2114 23rd Avenue North located behind the other three parcels (on the other side of the same block).

The Mpls Arbor Day Celebration will take place this Spring in the Jordan Park Neighborhood.

Dennis Wagner Is the New JACC Treasurer

Hello JACC,

Last night we had an immediate convening of the JACC Board to address some of the challenges on the immediate horizon. I was deeply moved by the participation of the JACC Board to effectively resolve these issues. We have appointed a new Treasurer, Dennis Wagner, who is enthusiastic about the skills he brings to this position.

I was encouraged, in large part due to the meeting being perhaps one of the most effective meetings that I can remember in a long time, it epitomizes the concept of Together Everyone Achieves More!!! We worked together for the attainment of a common goal; the improvement of the Jordan community. However, our work is not done, we still have to meet those challenges and overcome them. Adversity offers you two choices...victory or defeat!

I would like to encourage the Jordan community to come and participate in our efforts to improve the quality of life for our community, North Minneapolis, and Minneapolis.
